The entire consumer connect technology was from a long time polarized. What I see as an emerging trend- is figuring out how the information available at the backend can be made available at the right time to the right set of people, who will be serving consumers.
From that perspective, what Aspect has proposed is pretty exciting - making the entire contact center technology 'application-ized'. That is - making apps which can actually deliver enablement to the service provider as well as the person who is getting serviced.

Technology needs to eventually play the role of the enabler. With Aspect coming out with a series of measures to integrate processes makes a lot of sense. A lot of service failure happens because the intergration is not proper, because the fulfilment cycle breaks down, because the back office is not integrated. It will be very interesting to see how it evolves - how we can integrate a single holistic process altogether, so we get the experience delivered to the customer.
